Orchestra da Camera “Concertante” dell’ Universita di Nis (Serbia)

Chamber Orchestra “Concertante” is consisted of highly talented, young musicians, mostly students of music. They are interested in classical music, but also modern arrangements and folklore arrangements in classical style. Academic orchestra performed with a great success in Residency of Norway Embassy in Belgrade, University of Nis, Nis City Symphony Hall and many concerts in Serbia. Orchestra also collaborate with young talented solo-singers, as well as with eminent and young soloists, works of Bach, Mozart, Britten, Greg, Verdi, Sen Sans, Elgar, Romero, Gershwin, Piazzolla, and other world well known and domestic-Serbian composers like M.Kuzmanovic and Miodrag-Mika Mladenovic, native from Nis. June 2005 Orchestra participated with a great success on International Music Festival in Kristianstad-Sweden and under the special invitation of Graz University for Music, Orchestra performed concert in Aula of Karl-Franzens University in Graz (Austria). Also, December 2005 and 2009 in the Christmas Festival in Katerini (Greece) and concert in Sofia (Bulgaria). Orchestra successfully performed on XXV International Festival of Youth Orchestras in Murcia (Spain) April 2006 and XXVII edition of the same festival. Big success of the Orchestra is 5th World Sacred Music Week, Festival in Florence, April 2007 and opening of Lucca Festival dedicated to H. von Karajan. Orchestra is very proud about premiere of scenic performance of G.B.Pergolesi “Maid as Mistress” chamber opera comic, performed both in Nis and Murcia Festival (Spain) 2008 and nominated into “top cultural events 2008” in Nis, Serbia. Milena Injac was born in Nis, Serbia, in 1969. She took her Bachelor and Master of Arts Degrees in Orchestra, Opera and Choral Conducting at the Belgrade University of Arts Faculty of Music and perfected her skills at the Bartók Seminar (Jorma Panula) and Vienna Master class – awarded as a best participant (Salvador Mas Conde). With the Nis Chamber-Symphony Orchestra, Milena Injac won First Prize on the Chamber Orchestra Competition at the Third International “Music World Festival” in Fivizzano (Italy) in 2000, and First Prize with the Nis Chamber Choir at the Christmas Choir Festival in Katerini, Greece, 1999. She performed as a conductor with many different official state and chamber orchestras in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Macedonia, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Sweden, Spain and United Kingdom. This appearances include several opera performances in country and abroad. Currently, she works as professor and conductor of the Symphony Orchestra Faculty of Arts University of Nis and she is founder, Music director and Conductor of Chamber Orchestra “Concertante” Faculty of Art, University of Nis, as well. Milena Injac is Vice president of the Artistic Council of the Nis Summer International Choir Festival. She is awarded with Gold Badge – prestigious award of 20.International Choir Festival, Nis - Serbia 2004 for high artistic level of vocal-instrumental performances. Her interpretation and performance of comic opera G.B.Pergolesi: “Maid mistress” (“La Serva Padrona”) was nominated into “top cultural events 2008”in Nis, Serbia. Mrs.Injac is invited to conduct closing session of 29th International Youth Orchestra Festival in Murcia (Spain) in March 2010.
