In the most remote area of the garden, near the highest point of the Hill of Zaro, the mountain on which La Mortella sits, there is an Oriental Garden, with a Thai Pavilion and a pond with lotus flowers (Nelumbo nucifera).

This isolated spot, always caressed by a slight breeze setting the wind-chimes in motion, is a place for quiet reflection.

Along the banks of the pond, Hedychium coronarium grows, with its fragrant white flowers, while Japanese maples and tropical Vireya rhododendrons grow happily in the shade along with Tetrapanax papyrifer, Nandina, Clematis armandii, and Loropetalum chinense.
