Near the fountain, we find a group of Puya berteroniana, a Bromelia from Chile, which produces a beautiful six-foot spike covered in hundreds of metallic blue-green flowers with spectacular orange stamens.

The plant has silvery thin leaves, with sharp thorns around the edges.
