The Garden is open to the public from March 31 to November 4 on the following days:
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 7 pm (ticket offices close at 6 pm)


Additional opening days in 2018:

  • Monday April 2 - Easter Monday
  • Wednesday April 25
  • Monday April 30 - Labour Day

Giardini La Mortella in collaboration with Platypus Itinerary offer schools the opportunity for a study visit with an open air workshop that will give students an understanding and appreciation of the island’s environmental heritage and natural beauty.

  • For study visits, advance booking is necessary.
  • Visits are conducted by specialist guides who will illustrate the garden, as explained in the attached programme: PDF.
  • The full price of the guided tour is € 7,00 per student (€ 3,00 the entrance and € 4,00 the tour).
  • The visit will last about 3 hours; an informative illustrated booklet will be provided, as well as the materials necessary to complete the activities described in the programme.
  • Visits will take place on: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • The difficulty of the route is very low; we do however suggest comfortable clothing and footwear.
  • You will need a rucksack with a pen, a pencil and two colouring pens.
  • Transfer by private bus, from any point on the island to La Mortella and vice versa, costs €6.00 per person.

The Garden is in the comune of Forio, near the Spiaggia di San Francesco (beach) in the Zaro area.

  • Approximate area: 2 hectares or 5 acres.
  • Ticket offices close one hour before closing time.
  • You are free to stay as long as you wish (we suggest you allow a minimum of 2 hours). You must exit by 7 pm.
  • Free parking is available at the entrance in Via Zaro - see map here
  • The garden is accessible to disabled visitors; toilets for the disabled are available both in the upper and in the lower gardens.
  • Guided tours for groups in Italian and English, by appointment at +39 081 990118
  • Visitors receive a map of the gardens at the entrance. The map shows suggested itinerary and the main attractions.
