The chamber music concerts at the La Mortella Gardens continue to enjoy extraordinary public success; the star of the upcoming weekend (September 12–13) will be the exceptionally young pianist Daniele Martinelli.

Born in 2004, Daniele Martinelli is considered one of the most compelling talents of his generation. Having trained under Maria Grazia Bellocchio—with whom he earned his academic diploma with honors and a special commendation—he is currently continuing his studies at the Milan Conservatory. Winner of the prestigious "Premio Venezia" 2025 at Teatro La Fenice, he was also recognized as the top student among Italian conservatories, taking First Prize at the 16th "Premio Nazionale delle Arti". He has achieved success in historic international competitions, including the Viotti, the Pozzoli, and the Verona International Piano Competition. His concert career has already taken him to some of Italy’s most prestigious stages—such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Sala Verdi in Milan, and Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo—as well as to venues in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as a guest of prominent institutions. He has performed as a soloist with ensembles including the Orchestra of the Arena di Verona Foundation and the Kyiv Virtuosi Philharmonic Orchestra.

For the La Mortella audience, Daniele will present two completely different programs of great musical and technical significance across the two concerts. He will focus particularly on the Romantic era and Robert Schumann, performing two undisputed masterpieces by the great German composer: "Kreisleriana" Op.16 and "Fantasie" Op.17. Both are monumental works characterized by immense freedom and incandescent inspiration—true musical poems—about which Schumann himself wrote: "new worlds open up before me".
